The SolarEdge transformerless inverter combines advanced technology and ultra-efficient power conversion architecture to achieve superior performance. Fixed voltage technology ensures the inverter is always working at its optimal input voltage.
Works with DC to DC PowerBoxes described below!
A proprietary data monitoring receiver is integrated in the inverter and aggregates SolarEdge PowerBox performance data from each PV module. Multiple inverters can be connected in an RS485 bus or using a wireless Zigbee MESH network. The data from the inverters is transmitted to the web using an Ethernet connection or a wireless link and can be accessed via the SolarEdge Monitoring Portal for performance analysis, fault detection and troubleshooting.
It can be easily configured without the use of a laptop. The inverter comes with a built-in DC switch and is light enough for a single person to install on a supplied bracket.
Size Range: 3.3, 4, 5, & 6kW (integrated DC disconnects included)

DC to DC conversion module “PowerBox” installed at the individual module. These clip on to the module frame (or rack) and are plugged into modules.
These buck/boost converters maintain the PV module input at MPPT conditions, and maintain inverter input current in the series string they are connected to, providing significantly increased performance of arrays when partial shading conditions exist.
POWER BOX FEATURES:
1. When the inverter is off the power boxes put out 1 Vdc per module in the string. This eliminates high voltage shock hazard when system is inactivated and during installation and reduces trouble shooting.
2. Allows much more flexibility in module stringing: Different string lengths, split string orientations and use of different modules within a string can be accommodated.
3. Monitoring through the existing wiring gives module level performance data with 3 years of monitoring service included. Built-in web server in each inverter (and RS485 daisy chaining also supported. This component comes with a 25 year warranty. Electrocution Prevention & Fire Safety
Automatic module DC shutdown when inverter is not operating
Module and Inverter thermal shutdown
Electric arcs are automatically detected and prevented by module shutdown
BENEFITS:
-String voltage is always fixed, regardless of temperature and string length
-Flexible design for maximum roof utilization:
-Parallel strings of unequal lengths
-Modules on multiple roof facets
-Modules with different power ratings
-Modules of different technologies
-Longer strings for savings on wiring and BoS components
-String voltage is always optimal for DC/AC conversion
-High inversion efficiency at all times
-Prevention of under/over voltage situations
-Inverter cost reduction
-Higher security for installers, maintenance teams, and firefighters -Improved asset protection - roof, solar system
-Better suited for future insurance requirements
