For residential grid-tied solar power systems, Solar Depot carries models ranging from 3000 to 7000 watts. All of these inverters have a LCD monitoring system mounted on the front of the inverter. Real time power production, operating voltage and cumulative production are displayed.

The US Series inverters automatically sense the site utility voltage and can be configured with internal jumper settings to work with a 208, 240, or 277 VAC. The inverters incorporate a cast aluminum housing to separate the control and power electronics. The power electronics compartment integrates SMA's new OptiCool TM airflow technology where cool air is drawn in through the bottom of the enclosure by convection, drawn around the power electronics where the air absorbs heat and is the released through a side vent. When required, this process is assisted by a temperature controlled fan. The US Series include an integrated fused series string combiner and a load break rated DC disconnect for the 3000US and 4000US. The 5000US, 6000US and 7000US also include a load break rated AC disconnect. These US model number inverters also come with a 10 year warranty.

The Sunny Island 5048U provides 5000 watts of clean and stable 120 VAC output continuously at 25 Deg. C. Multiple units can be used together for single-phase, split-phase or three-phase applications and can be paralleled for increased power requirements. The inverter works with a 48V battery bank and includes an internal battery charger that can supply up to 100 Amps to the battery when running in charge mode. Transition from charge to invert mode is only 0.02 seconds, so even your computer will stay on-line. A transfer relay with a pass through rating of 56A at 120V is also included. Efficiency is listed at 95%. (This inverter is not listed as an approved PV inverter with the CEC, but it can provide battery backup to loads and allow other SMA Grid-Tied inverters to function during power outages).

The Sunny Island also features the unique ability to facilitate AC coupling of all power generation sources. This makes for efficient use of available AC power and greatly simplifies system expansion. Certified to the new UL 1741 / UL 1998 standards. Suitable for systems from 3kW to 26kW, allows DC coupling with optional equipment, excellent overload characteristics for motor starting, optimum battery management system facilitates long battery life. Limited 5-year warranty.

The Sunny Tower 36 kW inverter is designed for commercial systems. It is prewired at the factory with an integrated load-break rated AC/DC disconnect switch. It also includes an integrated fused series string combiner, sealed electronics enclosure, and utilizes the OptiCool TM technology mentioned above.

The optional Sunny Beam wireless monitor (up to 4 inverters per Sunny Beam) stores a month’s worth of production data for review at any time. Its sleek design incorporates a solar cell to enhance battery performance and the large LCD screen displays key data at a glance. Data from the Sunny Beam can also be displayed and saved to a PC with Sunny Data Control software.

The Sunny WebBox provides web enabled data logging and control for all utility interactive renewable energy systems with SMA Inverters. This device allows operating data to be logged in common file formats and easily transmitted via modem or Ethernet to the web or directly to your PC. Data can also be transferred to USB storage or SD memory cards. Use of this device requires the addition of an RS485 card to each inverter being monitored.

The Combi-Switch provides code-required external DC disconnect and protection for the inverter all in one small enclosure. The Combi-Switch allows for up to four PV strings to be landed on individual Touch SafeTM fuse holders. 10 Amp fuses are provided for PV string over-current protection. The fuse outputs are then combined and routed through the disconnect switch. One pair of wires conveniently connects the entire PV array to the inverters DC inputs. The enclosure is NEMA 3R rated. The Combi-Switch is also ETL listed to UL 1741.
